TotalEnergies: Anchor Testing

Afrishore provided comprehensive quayside support for an offshore rig mooring and anchor-testing campaign for TotalEnergies, staged from the Port of Cape Town. The scope covered coordination of the anchor-handling equipment, the staging and marshalling of mooring components, management of the quayside laydown areas, and logistical support for the anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel and the offshore personnel working the spread.

On the quayside, Afrishore handled the receipt, inspection, storage and load-out of the anchors, mooring wires, chains, shackles, buoys and associated lifting equipment, and coordinated vessel mobilisation, cargo manifests, lifting operations and marine logistics so that the mooring spreads and anchor-testing equipment deployed to schedule.

Through disciplined quayside planning, equipment-readiness verification and interface management between the vessel operators, marine contractors and port authorities, Afrishore supported the offshore anchor proof-testing operation directly. The campaign contributed to the safe and successful installation, testing and commissioning of the mooring system to assess this methodology for future offshore operations in the harsh-water South African environment.
